EA Sports has announced a server-side fix for the salary cap glitch that has plagued a lot of Connected Career Mode Leagues around the community, including several here on Tradition Sports Online. The fix should retroactively patch CCMs who have already experienced the glitch as well as prevent it from happening moving forward. The patch is set to go live today (12/7/12) for xbox and PS3. The official announcement was made on Twitter after it was announced to the members of the EA Sports Game Changers Program earlier in the day. Several EAGC's have had their own CCM leagues crippled by this glitch, including erroneous salary cap figures and some rostering issues that would not allow teams to sign free agents. Of those leagues effected were TSO's own premier league TMFL commished by EAGC Shaun Mason. Shaun and other members of the program have been relaying information back to EA for a few weeks while convincing them that this issue should be a top priority. After the announcement came through that the last title update did not include a patch to fix this issue, a unified message of disappointment hit the ears of the EA Community Management team. After a couple of weeks of pressing the issue, one of the developers at EA was able to identify the cause of the issue and create a fix. This is a big win for the Madden Online community as CCM would have all but been defunct without the use of salary cap and the free agent system. In order to continue, leagues would have had to resort to older methods of maintaining some of the basic functionalities of a Madden League.
