Idea to deal with injury timelines

    So, several people have stated in the Skype chat that they don't like the fact that injuries in the OA are limited to 2 games. I for one understand why it's done that way, but I also understand that it seems stupid that a player can have a 'broken back' and miss only 2 games. Plus, the lack of long term injuries makes the "durability" rating virtually meaningless.

    This is an idea I have on how to make injury timelines a bit more realistic - Bondzai creates an "injury committee" that reviews injuries that occur to user players, and the committee would then determine the appropriate amount of time that the player should miss based on the description of the injury in game. The coach of that team would then be forced to bench the player for the requisite number of games.

    I'm not necessarily sold on this idea myself, but thought it would generate a healthy debate. Please post in here how you feel about it and why you think it would or would not be a good idea. Feel free to insult me as well if it makes you feel better about yourself.:D

    I'm 100% on board with it. I'm one of the people who kinda hates how unrealistic the injuries are in this game. If we could find a compiled list of all potential injuries in an OA, (as I think jr suggested) it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a set number of games missed for each to reduce the human component and remove possible bias from the equation.

    There would obviously be a bringbackjimmy bump up on all injuries to Portland players right?

    The Portland factor adds 3 games to every injury. It's included in the algorithm and everything.

    I am also behind an idea like this. It is kind of ridiculous to see extreme injuries get the two game treatment.

    it would def. have to be honor code since say hypothethically ghost opens the season plays a late game and TY gets hurt for 2 games. he then plays 2 quick games before anyone notices he's even out.

    How do you figure? There are never more than 4-5 players on the injured list. Besides Raj volunteered to track it.

    and to add to the Portland injury rules. All Blazer big men must have a freak season ending injury at least once per year due to realism

    I believe this is in the league news that players are injured. If so, those games can be enforced at anytime, including after the next 2. Honor code is certainly needed, but its not something the committee wouldnt be able to see.

    As for the idea itself? Like it a lot!

    Someone would have to be available to look at the injuries daily and be able to check box scores to verify that guys didn't play.
