    OFF-SEASON RE-SIGNINGS (Salary Cap Glitch):

    The teams with players listed above are to place a ONE YEAR contract offer to the players they wish to have re-signed. The reason for this is because not every player that you make an offer to would re-sign; however, in FA they will all sign your offer since you are the only team making an offer to your designated players. If you wish to make offers to other free agents besides those players you intend to re-sign; make sure to submit the one-year offers to your re-signed players first. You will be given the opportunity to re-sign your players in the following off-season as the salary cap glitch will reset. Guys with the teams listed above, if you see that someone has bid on one of your players, please politely direct that owner to rescind their bid! :)


    FREE AGENCY:

    The online CCM has been advanced to the first phase of FA. Teams may begin submitting bids on Free agents for Phase 1 at any time. Please note that I've edited the start and finish times for the completion of FA Phases 1, 2, and 3. Good luck!


    TRADES:

    Trades involving players may continue to be posted up until 8:00pm EST before the draft on Thursday!

    We'll have you sign them to a 1 year deal after the draft. The prob is you won't be able to bid on other FA's... We were informed that you would be able to bid on FA's. :mad:

    Guys, if there are any FA's that you want to bid on, submit your bid to me, Jim, and Eddie via PM in the forum with the contract terms you'd offer. You'll need to request the player's minimum demands from one of the guys in the league. If there are any other teams who have submitted a bid, we will ask them what their bid is and we would award the FA to the appropriate team asking the other team(s) to rescind their offer if yours was higher. You would then sign the FA to a one year contract in the pre-season and re-sign in the post season in which we would allow for you to re-sign those FA's even if they refuse to re-sign.

    absolutely disgusted with this. Was looking forward to another offseason but now its been nothing but a headache and all of us who have been effected by this have to jump through hoops which makes this process even more frustrating

    Yes, it is very disappointing. We will work around it as best we can. PM all three of us with any FA offers you intend to make so that we may follow-up accordingly. If it is a FA who does not have any offers, we will place a freeze order on the FA so that you may sign him to a 1 year deal in the regular season and re-sign in the following off-season. If it is a FA who has other offers, we will compare yours with those of the other owners and award the FA based on the contract amounts. The amount of the contract, particularly the bonus, will carry more weight than the length of the contract. Total salary paid to the FA will be affected by the length of the contract, so that will factor in as well. Not as much fun as using the game, but it's all we've got for now. Sorry.

    so does this mean we cant even place a bid on our free agents that were off limits to everyone else since we couldnt resign them due to the glitch?

    I havent tried yet as I am at work but from what I have been reading it sounds like I wont be able to place a bid on any free agents including the ones that I didnt get a chance to resign

    I think what saying is that if you want a FA, PM Jim, Eddie, and Doug the offer.

    If the FA has multiple offers, they will get in contact with the parties who have offered contracts to that player as well. They will compare, then if you are the winning bidder according to how they will determine by contractual offerings, they will have the other parties withdraw their bids. Either that, or do the one year contract after everything clears if you are unable to sign them now. I think the latter..

    It's the best they can do with the shitty situation you've been dealt.

    I'm referring to the players that are off limits to everyone else like Jimmy Graham because I was unable to resign them due tot he glitch. Doug said above that we have to offer 1 year contracts to them but from the sound of it it appears i wont be able to offer any free agents anything since im in the negative

    U will be able to offer Graham a contract once the glitch is reset (hopefully once we start the season) at that point u would offer Graham a 1 year deal on the in-season FA and then next off-season u can resign him to a new contract. I could be wrong but that is what i understand. I am also going through this situation and it sucks balls

    Correct Rob, you will not be able to bid on ANY free agents, even your own. Those players will remain off limits and you will have the opportunity to sign them in the preseason free agency to their default 1 year contract(s). Then after the 2014 season, hopefully your team will no longer be glitched, and you will have the opportunity to resign those players (those that are willing to listen to your offers) to a new contract in the resignings phase.

    It is a shitty situation, but as T.J. said, this is the best we can come up with in an attempt to remedy the situation.

    In all that EA got right this year, they got this one wrong. I still think the good outweighs the bad, but I think this definitely needs to be ironed out for next year, or patched this year. It's not acceptable if this persists next year.

    Along with the messed up tiebreakers.

    Can't we freeze all fa signings until everyone has an opportunity?

    This goes back to my initial concern regarding how do we know how much cap space we will have. Also, we lost out on the all important franchise tag that would allow us to sign a player that no matter how much you offer would never resign. Can we designate that once we are able to see our cap space via the forum?

    What's with EAs gag order on this matter. They sure listened to the people who couldn't edit which side a towel was on a players waist but they can't address this?
